Oops, We Did It Again!

It’s been a stellar spring so far in our little universe at Camp A Better Pet. As winter melted into spring, celestial events were happening in rapid succession.  In mid March, Pinto and Tito created a new cluster of pups who are due any minute. Exact number inconclusive (it’s hard to see a lot of puppies when they’re criss crossed over each other in utero) but estimates are 8-10! I’m operating on stand-by and limiting my outings to less than 2 hours. Whelping bed is ready and her support systems are in place. Even her brother Newton is here to help keep Nickel entertained.

Pinto was already well into her 2nd trimester (dogs are pregnant an average of 63 days or 9 weeks. That’s 3 weeks per trimester!) when we had a rare and amazing solar eclipse. Of course I watched it with the dogs (and some people!) in the backyard and loved every amazing minute of it. The dogs were unimpressed and their usual cooperative, calm selves throughout.

As I write, we are ending a rare weekend long viewing  of colorful displays of aurora in the skies above from the solar particles colliding with gases above earth caused by a strong geomagnetic storm.

And in my own little house, my solar powered rainbow maker is going full tilt at displaying color rainbows throughout my space.

The stars truly are aligning for a staycationing summer. Rolling up my shirtsleeve’s to help rear another litter of resilient, affectionate, balanced, social and intelligent puppies for service, therapy and pet dog prospects. (these pups will be full siblings to The Bready Bunch).
