Our Values

Proven Track Record

Rachel has over 30 years experience working with dogs, specifically resolving tangible behavioral issues such as: aggression; separation anxiety; resource guarding; poor boundaries; reactivity; leash pulling; and more.  She is expert in assessing the dog, diagnosing the underlying causes of the behavior, and prescribing and executing treatment plans.

Extensive Experience

ABP LLC has 21+ years of continued business operation in northeast Ohio and a lengthy list of client testimonials.  Rachel works with her clients over the lifetime of their dog and in many cases is now working with second or third generation dogs.  Her range of experience, excellent reputation and high levels of client satisfaction are evidenced through long-standing client relationships, extensive testimonials, and years of continual service.

Uniquely Qualified

Rachel holds a Masters in Social Work, has extensive clinical and therapeutic work experience and 30+ years of dog training experience.  In all aspects of training this makes her uniquely qualified.  We never look at the dog’s behavior in a vacuum. Aways in the course of training, whether for a companion or service dog, we ultimately address human behaviors.  Rachel is able to engage with her clients (and in some cases their treatment providers) to understand and respond to both the human and canine factors at play, ultimately achieving improved quality of life for both.

6 Pillars of Dog Training Wisdom

The ABP proprietary methodology, “The Six Pillars of Dog Training Wisdom”, serves as introductory material to all ABP training programs.   “The Six Pillars of Dog Training Wisdom” helps clients to establish a solid foundation in the science of canine cognition, the art of behavioral modification, and delivers a clear framework for the ongoing training process.

Client-Centric Approach

Every ABP client engagement starts with a detailed assessment to determine the client’s concerns and objectives regarding their dog.  Rachel will then deliver a customized training program which specifically addresses their unique needs.  Most pet and service dog training consists of private, one-on-one sessions with Rachel, the client and their dog. However, group clinics and group training sessions are used when appropriate to aid in training goals.

Ongoing Support

Rachel forges long-term relationships with her clients and in many cases is training their second or third generation dogs.  Rachel remains accessible following the training program to provide ongoing support.  Forums such as DIP (Drop In Play) provide a formal support structure for clients in which they can put their new skills into practice in a safe and supportive environment, build community, establish a support network, and continue to share knowledge with other ABP clients.
