Available Puppies

Beech - ADOPTED 5/23/25

UPDATE: June 6, 2025

The Ten Shrooms are all placed and in various phases of training as companion, service and therapy dogs for their people. While I do not have a current puppy underfoot for training, I am willing to consider  2 – 3 more puppy raisings selected from great breeders in 2025. If you are seeking the right make and model of dog along with early training and socialization at A Better Pet towards therapy or service dog roles, be sure to fill out a contact us form with detail to help evaluate that possibility.

I have tentative plans to breed Pinto in spring 2026 with an English Springer Spaniel for  1/4 poodle 3/4 springer pup prospects for service and therapy dog training. You can be waitlisted with no obligations anytime in 2025 and early 2026 for consideration if interested.

SHROOMS UPDATE: May 24, 2025.
The Shrooms, just turned 1, are entering their second year healthy, hearty, well loved and progressing nicely. They range in size from 50 – 85 pounds — and yes, still growing… some more reflective of their Sheepdog heritage, the smaller ones more of their English Springer Spaniel genes. Delighted to be able to have a reunion for 6 of the 10 on May 18 and updates on all 10. So much fun to see them all together a year after birth. They are all a testament to the benefit of appropriate placement. How do I know?  Each owner feels they got the pick of the litter. This continues to be a time of additional growth, coordination, endurance, confidence, new experiences and opportunities to practice established basic manners and explore a widening world. Pinto’s ten puppies, all originally named after Mushrooms and known affectionately as The Shrooms, are from a repeat breeding between Mama Pinto, a 45 lb Springerdoodle (English Springer Spaniel/Standard Poodle mix) and Papa Tito, an 85 lb Sheepadoodle (Old English Sheepdog/Standard Poodle mix).
Delighted to report Beech’s first birthday gift was the confirmation of partnership. Stay tuned for updates as she transitions from her thus far lifelong home at Camp A Better Pet and her moving out to begin training with her new partner, Alex. Taking the time and care to find the perfect match is born from years of experience and this upcoming team is no exception. Check out more info, photos, and videos below!

Beech, a mini me of her mother, is sweet, mellow, loving, balanced and just a very easygoing dog. Beech loves people and other dogs and is also friendly with my cats. She walks nicely on a leash and has mastered her basic manners. She continues to excel in her public access outings and is a pleasure to train. She’s cuddly and inquisitive without being overbearing and is never pushy. She is also crate trained and rides nicely in the car. I believe she would be well suited as a service (or therapy) dog for the right partner and is ready for placement. Her expected adult weight is 55-60 pounds.  She is up to date on all puppyhood immunizations including rabies and is on monthly flea/tick and heart worm meds.

Beech is playful…

…tolerant, patient, and calm.

Previously Paired Shroom Puppies

Early reports from those who have adopted their brothers and sisters are overwhelmingly positive.
“Exceeding expectations” has been a common description shared with me.

I spent a lot of time and energy making sure all of these puppies’ early months were spectacular, and the results show that it has been well worth the effort. From early neurolological stimulation to supervised, frequent socialization with known healthy dogs, these puppies are well suited for their futures. Well rounded and stable, they can adapt to a variety of settings.
