The GENTLE LEADER EASY WALK HARNESSES are, in my opinion, the best tool for helping teach both calm leash manners and in some cases, calm behavior off the leash as well. The harness is also the skeleton of my own product, Har-Vest. Either one, fitted correctly, has a calming affect by applying pressure. The degree can vary from dog to dog. The front attaching leash prevents the dog from having the same power as a rear attaching harness or simple leash on a collar method because it affects the dog's center of gravity. In some cases, the use of this harness makes an immediate and dramatic difference. NOTE: If you try using this without professional supervision, do not be alarmed if after fitting it on your dog he or she walks around in an almost drunken fashion for a little bit. The martingale closure tightens slightly across the chest and shoulder blades when your dog attempts to pull forward. Unlike traditional traditional collars, the Gentle Leader Easy Walk Harness never causes coughing, gagging, or choking because the chest strap rests low across the breastbone, not on the delicate tracheal area.
